Overview
T H E P I L L ® is pleased to bring togetherthe works of two artists of Turkish descent from different generations living and working in Europe: the leading feminist avant-garde artist Nil Yalter, following her 2024 Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement Award in Venice Biennial, and Berlin-based artist Özlem Altın following her monographic exhibition at Berlinische Galerie as part of the Hannah-Höch-Förderpreis 2024.
Across decades, mediums, and geographies of displacement, both artists use kaleidoscopic strategies of fragmentation and re-articulation to break apart dominant visual narratives and reassemble them into new vocabularies. Through their shared interests in corporeality, ritual, and transformation, the presentation offers a dynamic visual and conceptual dialogue around the body as portal: a site of transmission, metamorphosis, and resistance.
